2013 Bridgehampton Polo Challenge
Bridgehampton Polo 16th Season
 Once
again, Bridgehampton Polo Club will host the coveted Polo Challenge. This summer’s matches promise to be among the most exciting
in the sport of polo. Some of the world's greatest equestrian athletes will compete for one of the sport's most treasured
prizes.
An Overview of the Sport
 A
polo match lasts about 2 hours and is divided into 6 timed periods called
chukkers. The object of the game is to hit the
ball down the field and through the goal posts to
score. During half time, spectators go onto the field in
a social tradition called divot stomping.
Bridgehampton Polo Challenge Update
The 16th annual season opened on Saturday July 21st at the Bridgehampton Polo Club.

• Saturdays July 21st to August 25th @ 4pm
• Nacho Figueras competes against Peter Brant's White Birch for glory in the Hamptons!
• Matches take place from 4PM to 6PM.
• General admission tickets ($25 per car) are only available on the day of the polo match and benefit the Bridgehampton Child Care and Recreational Center.
• The VIP tent hosts an invitation-only cocktail reception for exclusive guests each Saturday afternoon during
the tournament. |
2013 Bridgehampton Polo Teams
Six polo teams will compete in the high goal Monty Waterbury Cup tournament for the first 3 weeks. For the final
3 weeks the
teams will compete in the 20 goal Hampton Cup tournament.

Some of the East End’s most high-profile and influential audience of VIPs, celebrities and media regularly attend the
Saturday polo matches. Corporate sponsors include Ferrari, Piaget, Town and Country Magazine, and Zen Air.
Visitors are welcome at the Bridgehampton Polo Club on Saturdays this summer. General admission tickets ($25 per car)
