2009 Mercedes-Benz Polo Challenge

Once again this year, the summer polo matches at the coveted Mercedes-Benz Polo Challenge were among the most exciting in the sport of polo. Some of the world's greatest equestrian athletes competed at Bridgehampton Polo Club for one of sport's most treasured prizes.

An Overview of the Sport

A polo match lasts about 2 hours and is divided into 6 timed periods called chukkers. The object of the game is to hit the ball down the field and through the goal posts to score.
